Finnish-Swedish telecomms operator TeliaSonera AB said on Monday (10 October) that its subsidiary TeliaSonera International Carrier would deliver IP transit to the UK education and research network JANET and its 16 million end-users. The UK Education and Research Network Association (UKERNA) had selected TeliaSonera International Carrier to be one of its two IP Transit providers for the next two years, potentially extendable for five years. UKERNA would be using the TeliaSonera International Carrier IP network as a means of providing Internet access to the many users of the JANET network.
