Nordic Business Report-February 2, 2007-Vestas Wind Systems A/S wins new wind turbines orders in China (C)1994-2007 M2 COMMUNICATIONS LTD http://www.m2.com Danish wind turbines maker Vestas Wind Systems A/S said on Friday (2 February) that it has received two new wind turbines orders in China. The orders, covering a total of 220 units of the V52-850 kW wind turbine, were placed by state-owned utilities Datang Chifeng Saihanba Wind Power Co Ltd and Yilan Longyuan Wind Power Co Ltd. The wind turbines will be installed at two wind power projects in the Heilongjiang and Inner Mongolia provinces. "We are very pleased to enter into these contracts with Datang and Longyuan, who are two of the leading wind power operators in China. Both Datang and Longyuan are long-term customers of Vestas, and the signing of these contracts is yet another milestone in our close relationship with both companies, commented Thorbjorn N Rasmussen, president of Vestas Asia Pacific A/S. The values of the new orders were not disclosed, but Vestas Wind Systems said that they will not affect its expectations for 2007. Vestas Wind Systems, headquartered in Randers in Denmark, has production facilities in 10 countries. The company has over 11,200 employees and a turnover of over EUR3.58bn.
