Finnish ship power supplier and decentralised power generation systems provider Wartsila Corporation said on Tuesday (2 May) that its subsidiary Wartsila Automation Norway and the US engineering and technology company Emerson Process Management have decided to form an electrical and instrumentation system alliance for Floating, Production, Storage and Offloading (FPSO) vessels.
The alliance would deliver high-performance power plant and process automation systems for the FPSO market, incorporating leading technologies from both companies, according to Wartsila.
The engineering teams of the companies would develop turn-key solutions by collaborating from front-end engineering and design (FEED) through to FPSO commissioning and operation.
The first collaborative project of the alliance is for the BW Offshore FPSO "BW Enterprise".
