Finnish telecomms solutions provider Nokia announced on Tuesday (14 February) a preliminary agreement with the consumer electronics company SANYO with intent to form a new global company comprised of their respective CDMA mobile phones businesses. The new entity will reportedly operate in the spirit of partnership and have major operations in San Diego, US as well as Osaka and Tottori, Japan. The relevant assets from both companies would be contributed or made available for the new entity.
