Norwegian Internet browsers developer Opera Software ASA said on Tuesday (7 February) that the new 3G mobile phone from Sony Ericsson, the M600, includes the Opera Mobile browser. The Sony Ericsson M600 is based on the Symbian UIQ platform and offers a large touch screen, handwriting recognition and a suite of productivity tools, including the Opera Mobile browser. According to Sony Ericsson, the M600 will start shipping during the second quarter 2006. Opera Software is paid per unit sold in accordance with the software licensing agreement between Opera and Symbian.
